Members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) should impose an oil embargo and other sanctions on Israel and expel all Israeli ambassadors, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Wednesday.
An urgent meeting of the OIC is taking place in the Saudi city of Jeddah to discuss the escalating Israeli-Palestinian conflict, after a blast at a Gaza hospital late on Tuesday killed large numbers of Palestinians.
"The foreign minister calls for an immediate and complete embargo on Israel by Islamic countries, including oil sanctions, in addition to expelling Israeli ambassadors if relations with the Zionist regime have been established," the Iranian foreign ministry said in a statement.

Amir-Abdollahian also called for the formation of a team of Muslim lawyers to document potential war crimes committed by Israel in Gaza.
Iran has no diplomatic relations with Israel. The two countries are considered regional foes, and have engaged in a "shadow war" over the years.
Iran"s statement comes as a strike hit the Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza, killing 471 people in an attack blamed on Israel.
Israel has killed least 3,478 people have been killed in Gaza since October 7, amid its fiercest bombardment of the enclave in 70 years, with 13,000 Palestinians wounded and 1 million displaced.

Iran gave the order: This is how Hamas" offensive was planned
According to intelligence sources, in Israel, it is already known that the signal for the Saturday morning attack was given secretly to preserve the element of surprise, but the planning took place over a period of about ten months in secret trilateral meetings in Beirut, involving members of Hamas, Hezbollah, and senior Iranians.

Indications of the meticulous planning behind the surprise attack on the Gaza border communities are becoming clearer as time passes. The broad picture, even if late, should not soothe the politicians and military personnel but rather provide a clearer situation that would allow Israel to shift from defense to offense and prevent further loss of human lives in other areas. There is no room to persist with old misconceptions; our enemies on the borders are not deterred, and the Hamas attack, intentionally Iranian-driven, is necessarily part of a broader plan.

Iran gave the command. This fact is already known to all and is responsible for over a thousand fatalities and thousands of wounded. Some of these meetings were even reported in the international media and in Israel but did not receive special attention.
The most recent reported meetings took place in Beirut, one in October, just six days before the deadly attack, and the other in early April. Iran"s foreign minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, arrived in Lebanon ten days before the attack for central meetings with Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah and also met with Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, according to local reports. In the same closed-door meeting, it was reported that he approved "Tehran"s commitment to the strategy of supporting and resisting the Palestinian people and the issue of liberating the land (Israel)." Another meeting took place in early April when leaders of the armed movements, Hezbollah and Hamas, met in Beirut to discuss the "resistance axis" readiness" against Israel.

Israel, however, was mistaken in assuming that Hezbollah was still deterred and that Hamas sought to function as a legitimate governing entity, not as a terrorist organization. What do we know here? Since the beginning of the year, Israeli intelligence and the military have spoken about the "multi-theater combat" scenario, in which an attack would be carried out against Israel from Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria simultaneously, possibly even involving Arab citizens of Israel. The scenario made headlines in April-May when the main concern was violent activity against Israel and a combined attack during Ramadan and around Jerusalem Day events. During these months, there were many attacks against Israelis, but the threat of the scenario becoming a reality never materialized.
Despite the Diplomatic-Security Cabinet"s decisions regarding Hamas" capabilities, so far, the IDF has focused on aerial activity, while Hamas" military capabilities are deeply entrenched underground. As long as the capabilities of terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip are not eliminated, it seems that the residents there will not be able to return and live in security.
Now, after the tense week, all eyes are on Lebanon. The threats on the northern border are not what is currently preoccupying the fighters deployed along Israel"s northern border, but rather Hezbollah"s "Radwan Force." Israel has been closely monitoring that unit, whose mission in any hostility is to penetrate Israel and occupy territory in the Galilee. The Hamas "occupation plan" was designed to reach Ashdod; it was all but implemented last Saturday, and it could serve as a complementary element to Hezbollah"s plans from the north. Israel will need to destroy the Radwan Force and not allow it to continue organizing on our northern border. We have seen how it ended in the south.

Israel Hayom cameraman, Yaniv Zohar (54), was murdered on Saturday morning in the brutal Hamas attack on Kibbutz Nahal Oz, along with his wife and two daughters.
His sister Sivan said goodbye with great pain, "My amazing and beloved brother Yaniv, my beloved sister-in-law Yasmin, my pure and beloved nieces Keshet and Tchelet were murdered in Nahal Oz on Shabbat." Yaniv"s son was saved because he went out for a morning run and when the attack began, he took shelter in another house on the kibbutz, thus his life was saved.

When he worked at the AP news agency he showed the whole world all the escalations that happened here through the lens of his camera until he went to work at Israel Hayom," his close friend, photographer Yehuda Peretz, who worked closely with Yaniv for two decades, said. Yaniv was "a huge man with a huge heart. He loved his girls, he loved his wife, and he loved his son," Peretz added.
Yaniv was the first media person to arrive at the scene of Gilad Schalit"s kidnapping in 2006, and a year earlier he covered the Disengagement Plan extensively. He was a great friend, a devoted father, a man of heart and giving.
With his moderate temperament, Yaniv succeeded in combining competitiveness between various media channels, and collegiality and true friendship. He was always chasing after the next frame, despite the difficult scenes he captured. He always came to the rescue in the area of the communities surrounding the Gaza Strip, which he knew like the back of his hand, and with his camera on the other shoulder.
Today Israel Hayom is bidding farewell to a rare professional, an authority on photography, and extends its sincere wishes to Yaniv"s family.

100% behind decision to launch Al-Aqsa Storm: Iran FM Wednesday, 11 October 2023 9:00 AM [ Last Update: Wednesday, 11 October 2023 10:05 AM ] Iran"s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian (2nd-L) speaks at a meeting with senior managers at the Islamic Culture and Communication Organization and Iranian cultural counselors in neighboring countries, in Tehran on October 10, 2023. (Photo by ISNA) Iran"s foreign minister has rejected claims that countries other than Palestine are behind the "courageous" operation against Israel, saying the Palestinian resistance itself made the decision to launch it.Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks on Tuesday, days after the Gaza-based resistance groups successfully conducted Operation Al-Aqsa Storm in the occupied territories."What happened is 100-percent a resistance decision [despite] claims that other countries are behind [it]," Amir-Abdollahian said at a meeting with senior managers at the Islamic Culture and Communication Organization and Iranian cultural counselors in neighboring countries. They have become self-sufficient in producing missiles, rockets and drones, the top diplomat said.He further said Iran will continue to support the Palestinian resistance spiritually, politically and media-wise."Four decades of fight by the resistance fighters has taught them how to provide the items needed to defend Gaza and Lebanon. We as Iran will definitely continue our political, media, international and spiritual support for the resistance of Palestine, Lebanon and the region, and consider it a legitimate measure against the phenomenon of occupation," he added.Amir-Abdollahian also noted that Palestinian leaders want to open a new page in the path of resistance by taking "preemptive actions" rather than responding to the Zionists" systematic aggressions.Resistance leaders, he emphasized, want to take back the lands and settlements occupied by the Zionists and defend the Palestinians" rights in those areas instead of watching the destruction of Palestinian homes and the erection of settler units. This courageous operation was carried out in response to the aggressions, occupations, the killing of women and children, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu"s unbalanced and criminal extremism, he said.
