n late Tir 1303 (July 1924), following the assassination of the American consul in Tehran, Sardar Sepah imposed martial law in the capital, detaining several individuals and shutting down newspapers. On the 7th of Amordad (August 1924), alongside colleagues like Modarres, Haji Ismail Iraqi, Mirza Ali Kazerooni, Ahmad Akhgar, Malek al-Sho"ara Bahar, and Seyyed Hassan Zaeem, he submitted a motion to impeach Sardar Sepah"s government. The impeachment issues included "poor policy towards internal and external affairs, actions against the constitution and constitutional government, insults to the National Consultative Assembly, and failure to transfer the assets of the guilty to the government treasury."
